How to read a file in AngularJS?

I've taken Cherniv's code and folded all of it into a directive:

            fileReader.onerror = function () {
                if ('fileError' in attr) {
                    scope.$eval(attr['fileError'], 
                    {'$error': fileReader.error});
                }
            };

            var fileType = attr['fileSelect'];

            el.bind('change', function (e) {

                if (fileType === '' || fileType === 'text') {
                    fileReader.readAsText(fileName);

You can then use the directive as follows:

<input type="file" ng-model="file.data" 
       file-select="data" 
       file-loaded="myLoaded()"
       file-error="myError($error)" 
       file-progress="myProgress($total,$loaded)">

Where "file.data", "myLoaded", "myError", and "myProgress" are in the enclosing scope.

Yes, directives is a right way, but it looks little bit different:

.directive("ngFileSelect",function(){    
  return {
    link: function($scope,el){          
      el.bind("change", function(e){          
        $scope.file = (e.srcElement || e.target).files[0];
        $scope.getFile();
      });          
    }        
  }
})
