Does AdMob pay for impressions or only for clicks?

Do not listen to that guy @Eenjeen or watch his youtube video, he is completely wrong, AdMob does pay you for impressions.

You might get paid peanuts but if your DAUs are high enough those peanuts can add up to significant dollars. Flappy Bird is an example (read all the answers) of what high DAUs with impressions can do for you.

So maybe you only get a pittance of $0.1 cents or whatever every thousand impressions ($0.0001 per impression) but when a cpm ad is displayed you will get paid something.

Here's an example of how that $0.1 cents can add up fast if your app can serve 10,000,000 impressions in 1 day every day.

(10000000 impressions / 1000 cpm) * $0.10 per cpm = $1000 a day

or simply

10,000,000 impressions * $0.0001 each = $1000 a day

Try to grow a big user base like Flappy Bird which brought in $50k a day or Slither.io which brought in $100k a day and you’re good

You only really get paid per click with AdMob.

From my recent experience with AdMob, payment from impressions was negligible if anything at all. If you do get paid for impressions it is very small and unless you are getting a serious quantity of them, you probably will only make money off clicks.
